Yelp and Bing partner to bring a better user experience to search
As a marketing professional, you likely understand the value in local search and have registered your business on services like Yelp. This directory service has been an invaluable tool for a variety of brick-and-mortar companies throughout its existence, and recently Yelp announced its next big leap into the future.
On June 14, 2012, Yelp announced it will begin featuring content on Bing Local search pages. The service will surface content on the search engine including review snippets, photos, business attributes and various other data points. The new feature will be shown on relevant search page results and can help improve lead generation practices for companies.
In fact, when conceptualizing a search engine marketing (SEM) campaign, you may want to consider how Yelp data can complement or deter your image online. It may be worthwhile to become more involved with your Yelp profile and work to provide as much supplementary information as possible.
When your Yelp profile provides readers with important snippets of information and paints a positive picture of your brand, your mobile SEO presence improves and prospective clients may be more willing to invest in your services.
