Google+ continues to evolve in the social media marketplace

Having a social media marketing strategy is essential today. There are far too many prospective clients interacting online to neglect the platform, and it's worthwhile exploring every network option, rather than just the two leading providers.

Recently, Google+ turned a year old, unveiled its tablet applications and reported that it reached 250 million active users. However, the service took the spotlight and ran with it, announcing a new update to the social platform.

Google+ Events is a new, unique invitation component to the site. The feature gives users the ability to create specific events similar to Facebook, but Google+ takes it a step further and allows people to invite others regardless if they're Google+ members or not. Gmail recognizes the event attachment and emails the user. When the recipient responds, a Google Calendar entry is automatically created. What's more, Google+ Events allow users to attach a video element, which greets recipients upon first engagement with the feature.

B2B marketing professionals may find value in Google+ Events, as the feature allows users to create memorable invites that can be sent to prospective or current clients. This feature puts Google+ once again a step above other social services when it comes to business-to-business relations.
