Bing and Klout benefit from new partnership
Ever since Bing unveiled the redesign of its search capabilities back in May 2012, the search engine has regularly introduced new features to its Bing Social Sidebar. Now that summer has come to a close, Bing has one more surprise for its search users – the integration of Klout scores into the Sidebar. However, the integration also signals a much more significant partnership, as certain search feature will assist Klout by adding further support to its ranking system.
Bing says that Klout scores will appear next to people in the Sidebar feature, and the data will help determine how useful a certain article or website is for the intended user. In an official post, Bing said, "Klout as a social influence signal in the Sidebar will really help customers connect with the right experts on the topics they are searching for."
Additionally, Klout's official blog stated that search data had long been missing from the social site's efforts to fully recognize a person's influence, and Bing will help accomplish new goals in the future.
Search engine optimization (SEO) efforts will help get content in front of the right target audience, but online marketing experts will also want to spread information across social media platforms to grab the attention of influential people. When the right people engage with web content on Bing, Klout scores, high page ranks and traffic increases lead to more noticeable ROI.
