1. Not having a plan
Introducing a brand to social media without premeditated goals or strategies can lead to little or negative brand awareness.The first step of social media marketing (SMM) is discerning specific goals and delegating tasks among a collaborative team.
2. Being unorganized
Having multiple profiles on Facebook is confusing and ineffective. Companies should have a singular official profile on each network. While brands should maintain consistency among their networks, marketers must understand the differences between each audience to create customized content for each platform. Another component of organization is keeping calendars to plan posts ahead of time.
3. Posting too little or too much
Calendars will also help brands spread out messages throughout weeks and months. When brands don't post often enough – every few hours – consumers lose interest. Meanwhile, too many self-promoting posts has the same effect.
