Ecommerce has become a trending technique for a majority of today's post-holiday shoppers. On-the-go buyers are turning to the internet to get their year-end shopping done, and marketing professionals can turn to online marketing to reach shoppers. With only a few days left of 2012, the holiday season has seen an increase in online sales compared to last year.
A recent comScore survey showed that online spending was up 13 percent from 2011 between November 1 and December 14. Thanksgiving day saw a 32 percent increase in online shopping.
"With this most recent week in the books, the peak spending period may now be in our rearview mirror – but the online holiday shopping season is not over yet," said Gian Fulgoni, comScore chairman.
Many prospects adjusted their spending habits in 2012, and many have turned to the internet to make purchases. Marketing professionals can reach prospects more effectively by integrating different approaches, such as combining direct mail and email marketing tactics or making emails mobile-friendly. Businesses can also encourage their target audience to shop in-stores and create a personal and impressionable experience for them.
