Pinterest introduces new analytics tool

Website analytics are an incredibly useful tool for marketers and a few of the most popular social media sites have started developing tools to help marketers track their progress. Pinterest is the most recent site to announce an analytics tool to help get a better idea of how pins are being viewed and shared across the platform.

Pinterest's blog said that those with a verified website will be able to find out how many users pinned from the website, how many views the pins have had and how many clicked through Pinterest to the website. There will also be information on the most repinned items, most clicked and most recently pinned items. The analytics help narrow down what interested parties are engaging with on company websites and how marketers can develop more targeted content for viewers.

Content marketing is becoming more defined as websites make it easier to track customer interaction, meaning marketers have a better idea of what to provide for the most relevant customer experience. In addition to business accounts, Pin It buttons and board widgets, the Pinterest web analytics tool will help bring companies closer to their target audience.
