Google+ Local pages replace Google Places
B2B marketing companies in Phoenix companies should take into account the latest Google Places changes that were unveiled by the search engine giant on May 30, 2012. In this update, Google+ Local pages have replaced Google Places, making local search marketing and social media marketing more intertwined practices.
In addition to the interface change, Google+ profiles will now feature "Local" tabs, which will help organic visitors find local businesses easier than ever before. What's more, reviews from Zagat, integrations of maps and new mobile SEO capabilities have all been introduced with the latest update.
Overall, the change is meant to make it easier for people to engage with businesses online, socialize with their content and read reviews about them all on the same page. Users will also be able to filter search results by several criteria with this new update, including by the searcher's circles, which will show reviews and posts by social media friends and followers.
The Google+ Local tab provides businesses with another way to advertise their products and services online through social media, which may prove to be a lucrative lead generation practice in the future. Brands that have yet to focus their time on Google+ may want to start now.
