Bing increases the number of links on its SERPs

As a professional, you know that search engine optimization (SEO) is an essential part of the B2B marketing mix, but understanding the minds of SEO experts is impossible. Constantly being aware of how content is collected and organized on the web can keep practices up to date, but even with new insight, best practices still need to be implemented to increase search ROI.

Recently, Bing altered the amount of listings shown on search engine result pages (SERP). The Microsoft search engine sometimes shows more than 10 results on a page and it may also show fewer than 10. This all comes a few weeks after Google was found experimenting with seven listings on its SERPs.

"We're continually testing and experimenting on Bing in an effort to improve the user experience. We experimented with the number of answers for several months last year, and shipped the new format in June," a Microsoft statement read.

The spokesperson went on to say that SERPs with video or photo content may generate more content than searches unrelated to complementary information types. This type of change to how search is conducted may provide marketers with greater lead generation results, as information may be more visible to internet users.
