3 Google updates mentioned at I/O developer conference
This week starts the sixth annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco, and there are already a handful of search engine marketing updates that companies need to take note of. The Google blog stated that the tech company is focusing a lot of energy on Android and Chrome updates, but there are others to keep in mind, too. Staying on top of recent trends will help surpass competition and increase website traffic.
Three areas of importance for marketers would be the new designs for Google Plus, search strategy evolution and what the next generation of Google Maps will look like. Here's a closer look:
Google Plus: The new design reportedly allows users to search content and improve photo sharing, and Google Hangouts received an upgrade to enhance video experiences on the platform.
Search: The Google Blog touted the advanced nature of the company's search functions, saying it allows for "conversations" between it and users by predicting information, setting reminders and offering spoken answers now.
Maps: The next generation supposedly gets rid of "clutter" to make exploring areas easier. It also shows a more customized map with individually important information and is overall more useful.
