How mobile friendly are you?

To attract more business to your website, you need to optimize for mobile search, which is often much simpler than you think. Undoubtedly, mobile marketing will play a greater role in lead generation moving forward, and as a business owner, you should make sure you're prepared.

A recent Google survey found that 72 percent of respondents said it's important that web pages are mobile-friendly –  however, 96 percent said they have visited sites that don't work well on their smartphone or tablet computer. Amazingly, with mobile search growing so rapidly, few webmasters have fully designed pages that adhere to consumer demand, especially with 79 percent of mobile users saying they would navigate away from an unoptimized page and go to a competitor's site.

Consumers look for basic functions on mobile sites – it pays to reign in innovation and stick to the basics. Some of the features that appeal to mobile users are a load speed of five seconds or less, mobile-friendly buttons, limited scrolling, accessible calls to action and integration features like social media profiles.

While preparing for the next phase of your online marketing campaign, make sure you allocate a significant portion of your budget to mobile optimization. Taking the proper steps now to attract on-the-go users could prove profitable down the line.
