Manage personal SEO campaigns and improve your company’s lead generation
In the professional world, you need to manage and maintain your own personal brand similar to how you create a personality for your business. As the internet continues to play an active role in how people network, you might find value in using search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to boost the rankings of your personal social media accounts, especially if you use services like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ for professional purposes.
Recently, Search Engine Watch’s Nathan Safran ran a basic study using Conductor to determine how much – if any – personal social media accounts affect SERPs. He originally analyzed data earlier in the year, but with Google’s continuous evolution, it’s worthwhile to see which updates have been made over the past seven months.
Safran’s results showed which services influenced page rankings the most. According to the report, Facebook increased by 10 percent to 62 percent since January 2012, which was the largest growth of all tested services. Twitter continues to influence SERPs the most with 95 percent of the time, while Google+ and LinkedIn fell flat.
As a business owner, you can promote your personal brand, and your company can benefit from your high page rankings. When a prospective client goes to search your name, your social accounts with show up toward the top, and you may find your own name is the easiest lead generation tool you can wield today.
