A new report from Criteo entitled “State of Mobile Commerce” shows that mobile now accounts for more than 30 percent of all ecommerce transactions in the U.S.
For anyone who has been paying attention to the growth of mobile, it may come as no surprise to learn that businesses that have optimized for mobile generate many more mobile transactions than those that haven’t made an effort to make their sites mobile-friendly. In fact, the research shows that optimized sites have better conversation rates at every stage of the process.
Those businesses that have gone a step further and developed an app to accommodate mobile customers have seen a big return on their investment: apps generated almost half of all mobile transactions for companies that have emphasized their app, and mobile apps perform better than any other channel.
All of these stats and updates only serve to emphasize what experts have long been saying about the importance of mobile-optimized strategies. As predicted, many companies that ignored mobile in their marketing strategy are now starting to suffer the fallout.
