Google+ is Now Required
Ever since its launch in mid-2011, we’ve been talking about Google+ like it’s the next big thing in social media. But with 28 million+ users spending not much more than 3 minutes per month (yikes!) on the site, it’s hard to pretend that G+ is even close to Facebook (400 minutes/month).
Well, hold onto your seats, folks. Google has a new plan and it’s quite the controversy: requiring people to use the Google+ social network.
If you create an account to use a Google app such as Gmail, YouTube, Drive, etc. you will automatically get set up with a public Google+ page that can be viewed by anyone online. The page will include the user’s real name and can be edited to include other information. The page can be disabled or deleted, or hidden from public view.
