Social Networking Site, LinkedIn, Continues to Upgrade Services
LinkedIn, a popular social networking site, has recently implemented several upgrades that will change the way that visitors use the site. These upgrades include the introduction of LinkedIn today, a “Share” function and video functionality as well as changes to their third-tier connections and group message system.
LinkedIn today allows users to acquire relevant news from their peers. This means that individuals will be kept up-to-date on the latest industry news without having to reference several different sources. LinkedIn will provide news sources from the usual big news and media sites as well as sites like TechCrunch and Mashable.
The LinkedIn “Share” function makes LinkedIn a bit more like Facebook but geared towards professional individuals. Sharing an article with your LinkedIn network will result in a Network Update providing information about where to read and discuss this article.
The most recent version of LinkedIn also has video functionality, which allows users to add video and rich video sources to their profile.
LinkedIn has provided more privacy by only allowing users to invite third-tier connections or individuals they with no connections if they know their name.
Group Message Systems
LinkedIn has also changed their group messages system. Users can only send group messages to individuals in a specific group and no longer to individuals in search results. LinkedIn hopes this will reduce spam and allow users to concentrate on more important content.
