Search Engine Optimization Phoenix: Bing Enhances Results with Facebook
Bing recently announced that it had expanded it partnership with Facebook. Bing will soon be enhancing it search engine results with Facebook Likes. When users search for information on Bing, with Bing’s “Liked Results” users will see which of their Facebook friends like the same search listing.
Bing also plans to enhance it index with Facebook profile search. By indexing user’s Facebook friends, Bing will narrow down the user’s list to those included in their own social graph. Bing will even enable user to take action and send friends messages and more.
This may concern Web privacy advocates, however, Bing’s “Liked Results” only displays content that is designated as “public” and linked to a user’s Facebook friends. According to Bing, “This is the same information someone could access by viewing their Facebook network directly, except it adds relevancy by being presented alongside “traditional” Bing search results.” Users will also be offered the option to disable the function.
Bing plans to start implementing these features over the next few weeks in the United States.
