Search Marketing Arizona: Yahoo Fall Preview
Yahoo recently previewed a number a search enhancements they plan to introduce this fall, following the changes at Bing (IE9/HTML5 integration) and Google (Instant). While Bing focused on aesthetics and Google focused on speed, Yahoo’s search enhancements are focused mostly on deeper news and entertainment results as well getting more social.
Yahoo plans to launch new, more “visually compelling” search results that will make it easier to find entertainment and news topics. For example, when users search for music, movies or celebrities, Yahoo’s new SERPs will combine news articles, images, videos, events, tweets and ratings in a box above the natural listings News searches will return images, video, tweets and articles on a single page.
Additionally, Yahoo also plans to improve Yahoo Mail making it safer, faster and easier to use.
